Program Description

Description

The library is adding a large (12’x28’) outdoor pavilion to the patio area on the south side of the building. The pavilion will provide outdoor space for programs for all ages as well as a peaceful place for visitors to relax, read, or enjoy nature. Everyone is invited to attend the dedication and ribbon cutting event on June 11 at 7:00pm. Join us for refreshments, prizes, and kids’ activities and stay for the outdoor movie “The Little Mermaid” which will begin at dusk.

The library Board and staff are grateful for a generous donation from the Steve Appell Trust to fund the pavilion project. Steve was a long-time Friend of the Library and was proud of the contributions that the library brings to the community. Steve served as a Cherry Valley Village Trustee from 1975-1978 and again from 2007-2019 with 20 years in between served as Village President.  Steve loved the outdoors, so the pavilion, with its beautiful views of both the apple orchard and the library’s gardens of native plants, is a perfect project to celebrate and honor his legacy.
