Join the virtual discussion of the title, Of Beetles & Angels: A Boy's Remarkable Journey from a Refugee Camp to Harvard by Mawi Asgedom. This memoir tells the story of Mawi Asgedom, who at age three, fled civil war in Ethiopia by walking with his mother and brother to a refugee camp in Sudan. After several years of waiting there, the family moved to Wheaton, IL in 1983 where Mawi grew up and eventually earned a scholarship to Harvard University.
